"Tha' was taken jus' after I got inter Hogwarts," Hagrid croaked. "Dad was dead chuffed ... thought I migh' not be a wizard, see, 'cos me mum ... well anyway. 'Course, I never was great shakes at magic, really, ... but at least he never saw me expelled. Died, see, in me second year .... Dumbledore was the one who stuck up for me after Dad went. Got me the gamekeeper job ... trusts people, he does. Gives 'em second chances ... tha's what sets him apar' from other heads, see. He'll accept anyone at Hogwarts, s'long as they've got the talent. Knows people can turn out okay even if their families weren't ... well ... all tha' respectable. But some don' understand that. There's some who'd always hold it up against yeh ... there's some who'd even pretend they just had big bones rather than stand up an' say -- I am what I am, an' I'm not ashamed." (GF24)
I just read the chapter this came from. Rereading these books has enlightened me to all of the beautiful and inspiration words that JK Rowling has put into her books. There are times when you read a book as a child and then look back and it's more influential and uplifting than you remembered. This is one of those times.
I just love how this was added in there, it's so sweet and uplifting!
I love it when you find quotes like this in books from when you were younger, do you all have any quotes you have really loves from books you're reading?
Thanks for reading!

Harry Potter Update
Look you guys, I can't post a summery for EVERY chapter! Go read the books yourselves, I ain't SparkNotes! But I just finished Chapter 20 and wanted to put a quick summery down:
So it's the night that Harry is going to talk to Sirius and Hagrid is all like "Bluh, Harry, you should come down to my hut at midnight tonight I've got something to show you!" And Harry's like "God, fine Hagrid, I will!" Even though he's supposed to talk to Sirius at 1 am he goes down to Hagrid's hut. There he meets Hagrid, he's wearing the invisibility cloak by the way, and the two go off to the forrest. Hagrid brings Madame Maxime and Harry is still invisible. Hagrid then shows the two the four dragons that they have brought for the first task! Ahh! Dragons! Harry has to fight a DRAGON!
So Harry goes back to the castle and talks to Sirius, via the fireplace, and tells him everything that's happening and how freaked out he is and Sirius is all "Harry, there is a simple spell you can use to defeat the dragon!" But then Ron comes bustin' in and Sirius has to leave. Harry and Ron get into a fight and both of them go to bed angry.
The next day Harry realizes that Cedric is the only person who won't know about the dragons (because when Harry went back to the school he saw Karkaroff sneaking toward the forrest) so he devises a plan to tell him. He makes Cedric's bag rip in the hall before class and he tells him. But suddenly Moody comes out of nowhere and tells Harry they need to talk!
Back in Moody's office, he tells Harry that he needs to play up his strengths to fight the dragon. Harry figures out that flying is a talent that he has and Moody hints that he can summon the broom into the stands. So Harry is off to find Hermione so that he can master the summoning spell accio!
The two practice and practice, and finally it's time for the first task. As Harry suspected, all the champions knew about the dragon and were ready and prepared. The order was Cedric, Fluer, Krum, and then Harry. All of them go and finally it's Harry's turn!
Harry is off to fight the dragon! His task is to get the golden egg from underneath the mother dragon. Harry's dragon is the most dangerous of all, the Hungarian Horntail! So he summons his broom and treats the task like a particularly dangerous quidditch game and gets the golden egg! Hooray for Harry!
After he leaves the stadium, he is met by Hermione and....RON! And Ron apologizes and they are friends again, like nothing ever happened! All is well right now for the H-Pizzles. Harry finds out that the clue for the next class is the egg he just obtained. But what could that mean?
That's all for today!

Goblet of Fire: Chapter 18
This chapter was huge, I even had to take little notes to remember everything that happened! Okay let's get this rolling.
So it's the next day and Harry ventures to the great hall for breakfast when he comes face to face with Hermione. She has a big stack of toast and the two go for a walk around the lake. Hermione tells Harry that she believes him about not entering. She also tells him why Ron is so mad: he's jealous that Harry continues to get all this attention and he is stuck in the shadows. It's very understandable but you still are mad at Ron for being so obnoxious. Hermione also tells Harry that he needs to write to Sirius and tell him what happened. So the go to the owlery and write him a letter.
Next they go to care of magical creatures, where they find Hagrid with his monstrous blast ended skrewts. He sends everyone else off the take them on walks while he talks to Harry. Hagrid also believes that Harry is telling the truth and it makes Harry feel a lot better.
After that they go to a dreaded double potions lesson where they meet the Slitherins. Malfoy has made badges that all of the Slitherins are wearing. The message flashes between "Cedric Digory: the real Hogwarts champion" and "Potter Stinks". Then Malfoy calls Hermione a mudblood and Harry pulls out his wand. Harry and Malfoy get into a fight and both cast spells at each other, which bounce off when the hit directly in the air and they hit Goyle and Hermione. Hermione's front teeth begin to grow and grow. Suddenly Snape arrives and tells Malfoy to tell him what happened. Malfoy lies of course and when Harry and Ron try to stand up to Snape they are given detention. The class begins and Snape reveals that the will be testing antidotes to poisons on a student. He then looks at Harry and he gets a sick feeling that it will be him.
But Colin Creevey bursts into the room and says that Harry needs to come with him, official champion business of course. All of the champions need to go upstairs immediately.
Harry arrives upstairs and finds out that this is a wand weighing ceremony. All the champions are there but not all of the judges are. A woman named Rita Skeeter is introduced and she is a particularly nasty writer for the Daily Prophet. Seeing as not everyone has arrived, she wants to have a word with Harry. She drags him into a broom closet and takes out a Quick Quotes Quill, which writes lies about what Harry is saying and doing. Harry becomes very frustrated with her but Dumbledore saves the day by saying that it time to begin.
Harry is surprised to see that Mr. Olivander is there! He checks everyone's wand to make sure they are working correctly for the tournament. All the wands are in prime condition and they all have to gave pictures taken, which takes forever! Finally thy are allowed to go down to dinner.
At dinner, Hermione is not there. Harry guesses she is still in the hospital win getting her teeth fixed. Harry is all alone. The whole school hates him and his best friends are gone and one of them is angry with him. Harry goes up to Gryffindor tower and finds Ron waiting for him. Ron tells him he has a letter and promptly leaves without another word. Harry opens it and sees it's from Sirius. The letter tells him that he needs to wait by the fireplace at a certain time and date so that they can talk face to face.
And that's the end! Next chapter is entitled "The First Task". Very exciting stuff.
Until next time my sweets,
Emily

Goblet of Fire: Chapter 17
It's very exciting! Just a warning, for the Harry Potter books I will be doing chapter summeries/reviews. So it will be spoiler heavy content. So if you never had a childhood, then you will be spoiled on the outcomes of the Harry Potter series. Starting...now!
So, oh snap! Harry got his name chosen from the Goblet of Fire! And everybody thinks that he put his name in, but he didn't! He's pretty much forced to participate and he has a hunch whoever put it in is working for Voldemort and is trying to get him killed! Everyone is Gryffindor is really excited and happy but Harry is in no mood. And worst of all, Ron is all pissed off and mad at Harry because he thinks he put his name in and didn't tell him. Intense stuff, you guys.
That's all for now! I'll be posting again soon!

Welcome to my blog!
Hellooo! Welcome to BillaBooks, a blog about books.
I am currently on a mission to reread the Harry Potter series for the millionth time. Right now I'm on the Goblet of Fire, but that's not all!
I'm going to also going to talk about previous books I've read, make some lists of the best and the worst books, and also post a list of books I want to read. Hopefully, if you've read something I have on there you can tell me what you thought of it!
I feel like there needs to be a good "goodbye" catch phrase... Maybe a new one every time.
Emily signing off!
